Job summary

Crete Carrier Corp in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks a skilled diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering, transmissions, drive trains, and tires on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, study manuals, and work with a team to ensure safety and reliability.

Must be enrolled in a Diesel Technology program and demonstrate strong communication and problem‑solving skills; physically capable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must be enrolled in an accredited Diesel Technology program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair required
• Excellent mechanical repair skills required
• Ability to read service and repair manuals required
• Ability to read work orders required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Willingness to operate in a noisy shop environment and lift up to 100 lbs

Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering, transmissions, drives, tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment
• Performs preventive maintenance (oil changes, fluids, batteries, lights, lubrication)
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
