Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to service heavy duty trucks and trailers. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems, then communicate the repair plan to the Service Advisor and complete repairs safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised and adapt to flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical/mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services during inspection reviews.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees.
