Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and service heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will perform diagnostic testing, develop a repair plan, and communicate it to the Service Advisor.

You must be able to work unsupervised, handle flexible hours, bring your own tools, and commit to safety. TA offers medical, dental, 401(k), paid holidays, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Investment in own tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers to meet company standards.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical equipment; complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; uphold safety for customers and employees.
• Recommend other TA services with customers during inspections.
