Stribling Equipment, LLC is seeking a skilled Shop Technician II focused on heavy diesel equipment in Jackson, MS. The role emphasizes diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered machinery in a shop environment with strong earning potential.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel tech experience, knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and the ability to read technical manuals. John Deere experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on diesel technician experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment.
• Experience servicing John Deere construction or forestry equipment is a strong plus.
• Diesel Technology degree or equivalent certification preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose complex mechanical issues.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction and heavy equipment in a shop setting.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to identify root causes.
• Inspect, service, repair, and replace engine components, transmissions, and hydraulic parts.
• Use diagnostic software and manuals to resolve equipment issues and document results.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services per manufacturer specs.
• Recondition and repair heavy equipment to restore operation and performance.
• Test equipment after repairs to verify functionality and quality of work.
• Document labor, parts, and repairs in service records and work orders.

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction and heavy equipment in a shop environment.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system diagnostics to identify equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
• Inspect, service, repair, and replace diesel engine components, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related equipment components.
• Use diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and technical service manuals to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, scheduled services, and equipment inspections according to manufacturer specifications.
• Recondition and repair heavy equipment and components to restore proper operation and performance.
• Test equipment following repairs to verify functionality, performance, and quality of completed work.
• Accurately document labor, parts, supplies, and repairs through service records and work orders.
• Maintain personal tools, shop equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on diesel technician experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment or related diesel-powered machinery required; 3 or more years preferred.
• Previous experience servicing John Deere construction or forestry equipment, including John Deere technical training or certifications, is a strong plus.
• Diesel Technology degree, technical diploma, or related certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and perform appropriate repairs.
• Experience using electronic diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computerized diagnostic software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
• Must provide own tools appropriate for heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
