Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman at our Rockford, IL location. The role oversees diesel repair operations, leads the service team, and ensures quality workmanship with safety compliance. A strong background in diesel engines, heavy‑duty trucks, and computer diagnostics is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks required.
• Diesel engine certification required for overhaul and diagnostics.
• Must have own set of general tools.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Technical degree or Certification is a plus.
• Strong computer skills for diagnosis and repair orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform test drives to verify customer concerns.
• Conduct quality inspections on completed trucks/equipment.
• Perform repairs and DOT inspections as needed.
• Assist technicians and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with service office to align jobs and next tasks.
• Update customers and obtain necessary approvals.
• Update Uptime Pro with current information.
• Manage parts ordering and shop duties as needed.
• Be open to rotational on‑call schedule.
