Job summary

Schneider in Wilmer, TX is seeking an associate to provide general mechanical assistance to diesel technicians, perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, and handle parts stocking and related non-technical tasks. This role follows the second shift, with hours from 4:00 p.m.

to 2:30 a.m., Wednesday through Friday and alternating weekends. Responsibilities include assisting higher-skilled technicians, replacing components like lights and filters, using a computer for work orders,

Qualifications

Associate degree in diesel technology or related field.
Valid driver's license and DMV record standards met.
Experience with computer systems.
Ability to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist higher skilled technicians on tractor and trailer repairs.
Replace lights, tires, fuel filters, air filters, mud flaps and mud flap brackets.
Perform routine cleaning of the shop and equipment.
Use a computer to create, track and complete work orders.
Maintain and stock parts inventory.
Use a forklift and company vehicles to pick up, unload and stock parts.
Communicate with internal customers, including other shop associates, drivers and operations leaders on repairs stances.
