Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Texarkana. The role performs heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision and offers on-the-job training toward Service Journeyman status.

Qualified candidates have three years of hands-on experience or vocational training, with A/C, Brake, and DOT Inspector certifications, plus the tools needed to perform duties. CDL preferred and safety-focused environment.

• Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience with engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical, transmissions, cooling, chassis, brakes, and maintenance.
• Works on major components with supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Keeps a neat and orderly workspace and handles tools properly.
• Informs Shop Foreman if additional repair work is needed.
• Follows safety practices and uses protective equipment.

Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role of the Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.


• Gains experience by working on the following items with minimal supervision: engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.


• Works on major components with close supervision.


• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.


• Attends training sessions and meetings.


• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.


• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.


• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.


• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
