Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic for our Denton, TX area. This role performs heavy‑duty mechanical repairs under general supervision and participates in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

You will gain experience on engines, fuel, electrical, transmissions, and braking systems while attending training sessions. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for internal promotion within a safety‑conscious shop

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Three years hands-on experience or vocational training required.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Employee must bring necessary tools to perform duties.
• On the job training provided and opportunities for promotion.
• Commitment to safety and proper handling of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties on heavy-duty diesel equipment.
• Work on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, and tune‑ups.
• Troubleshoot minor problems and assist on major components under supervision.
• Attend training sessions and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Report required repairs to the Shop Foreman and follow safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role of the Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on the following items with minimal supervision: engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
