Job summary

Granger Chevrolet is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles in a fast-paced dealership environment. You will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engine systems and related components to factory standards.

The ideal candidate has factory diesel certification preferred, valid driver's license, good driving record, and strong customer service skills. Join a team that values quality workmanship and ongoing training in latest diesel technology.

Qualifications

• Experience performing warranty and non-warranty inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair on various vehicle makes and models.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding goals and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Ability to explain diesel repairs in non-technical terms to customers and service advisors.
• Commitment to ongoing training and staying current with diesel technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on diesel vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and Factory standards.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and AC.
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional diesel repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and required repairs to service advisors and customers in clear terms.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings for necessary repairs.

Diesel Service Technician

Customer satisfaction is a result of your personal work habits and ethics and is of utmost importance as part of your job function.

The DieselService Technician is also responsible for setting goals for personal service improvement, and monitor progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production numbers as provided by the Service Manager.

• Diesel Service Technicians perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on Diesel Vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or Factory standards
• Diesel automotive technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
• Diesel Mechanics provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
• Explain diesel mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

As aDiesel Service Technician (Diesel Automotive Mechanic), you will be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. We have determined some factors that may enable your success as an Diesel ServiceTechnician:

• Factory Diesel Certified technicians HIGHLY preferred
• All Factory certified technicians considered and are encouraged to apply
• Willing to talk to recent tech school graduates
• Must hold a valid driver’s license- good driving record required
• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
