Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC) is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group, and we are seeking a Diesel Service Journeyman/Mechanic to perform all duties of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision.

You will diagnose major problems, train Apprentice Technicians, maintain a clean and safe shop, and communicate effectively with customers while advising on necessary repairs and staying current with new technology.

Qualifications

• CDL required.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Must have at least one specialization (engine or drive train).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience or vocational training.
• Must have necessary tools to perform position.
• Must have good customer relations and communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimum supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers.
• Participates in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

The role of the Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair Technician under minimal supervision.
