Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing organization. We are seeking a Diesel Service Journeyman/Mechanic to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician with minimal supervision.

The role requires skilled mechanical work, troubleshooting, and collaboration with Apprentices. You will maintain a safe, clean work area, advise the Service Foreman on needed repairs, and uphold high customer relations while staying

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience or vocational training.
• Must own the necessary tools to perform the job.
• Strong customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and complex mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot major problems.
• Assist and train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work area with proper tool handling.
• Inform Service Foreman if additional repair work is needed.
• Maintain positive relations with customers.
• Participate in training to stay current with new technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic. The role of the Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair Technician under minimal supervision.

• Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimum supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers.
• Participates in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
