Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic in Ardmore, OK to perform skilled, heavy-duty truck repairs under minimal supervision. You will diagnose major problems, train Apprentices, and keep a clean, organized workspace while maintaining safe tool handling.

Ideal candidates have CDL, A/C/Brake and DOT Inspector certifications, 4+ years of experience or vocational training, and strong customer relations and communication skills.

Qualifications

• CDL required; A/C, Brake and DOT annual inspector certifications are preferred.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience or vocational training in diesel service.
• Must have your own tools to perform the position.
• Strong customer relations and clear communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical work on heavy‑duty truck equipment with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot major problems and diagnose repair needs.
• Train Apprentice Technicians and share knowledge.
• Maintain a neat, organized work area and proper tool handling.
• Advise the Service Foreman if additional repairs are needed.
• Maintain favorable relations with customers and communicate status.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

The role of the Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair Technician under minimal supervision.

Qualifications
