Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Reefer Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Rock Hill, SC.

At Ryder, a Reefer Technician will diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment, focusing on refrigeration units such as Thermo King or Carrier.

• Hourly Pay: $39.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
• Sign-On Bonus: $3000 at 30 days and $3000 at 90 days
• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
• Hours: First shift, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• All other certifications required by location

• Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
• Prefer ASE certifications in PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or Master Mechanic
• Proficiency with shop computers and diagnostic equipment
• Minimum tool requirement
• Ability to road test vehicles
• Ability to coach and mentor others

• Note: This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become an employee, you must:

• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check

• Assist roadside breakdowns remotely
• Maintain shop and facility operations
• Interact with customers and drivers professionally
• Mentor and coach other technicians
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Support other operational duties as needed
