Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company in Maryville, TN is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines and related systems on mobile plant equipment. You will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.

You will document service reports, assist in driving heavy equipment, and support the maintenance team with safe, efficient operations under varying weather and shift conditions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3 years driving commercially licensed vehicles; 2–3 years driving ready mix concrete trucks preferred.
• Must have valid CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Knowledge of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mobile equipment.
• Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment to maximize performance and limit downtime.
• Inspect equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues; perform required repairs.
• Handle and move parts and tools safely in shop and plant.
• Document and record service reports daily and monthly.
