  • Diesel Tech Trainee positions pay weekly
  • Hourly pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: First shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Zero to one year of mechanical experience working with diesel engines preferred
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and in a team, and represent Ryder professionally
  • Good time management and attendance
  • Personal accountability and results-oriented mindset
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Beginner knowledge of machines, tools, and shop management systems preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
Regulated Tech Requirements
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test
  • Background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification

Additional requirements may vary by location.

Responsibilities
  • Move and wash heavy-duty vehicles, fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles, record fuel activity, and maintain inventories
  • Perform multi-point inspections and report issues
  • Maintain fuel island and perform minor facility maintenance
  • Complete Technician Training Development Program, including hands-on and online training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
