• Diesel Tech Trainee positions pay weekly
• Hourly pay: $22.14 per hour
• Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly bonus: up to $500 four times per year
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: First shift, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Zero to one year of mechanical experience working with diesel engines preferred
• Must be 18 or older
• Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
• Customer service skills
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and in a team, and represent Ryder professionally
• Time management and good attendance
• Proven performance and accountability
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Beginner knowledge of machines, tools, and shop management systems preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred

Regulated Tech Requirements

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities

• Move heavy-duty vehicles, wash and detail vehicles, fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles, record fuel activity, and maintain inventories.
• Perform multi-point inspections, check tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area, perform minor maintenance, and attend technician training programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
