Position Description

Immediately hiring a permanent full-time Diesel Technician Trainee. Must have experience operating and maneuvering tractor-trailers. Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience is preferred.

  • Diesel Tech Trainee positions pay weekly
  • Hourly pay: $19.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Up to 1 year of mechanical experience working with diesel engines preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills and technical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and as part of a team, and represent Ryder professionally
  • Good time management and attendance record
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of machines and tools
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain within 6 months if not already held
  • DOT safety regulated; must pass drug test, physical, road test, and background checks
Responsibilities
  • Move and wash heavy-duty vehicles, fuel diesel and hybrid vehicles, and maintain fuel and DEF inventories
  • Perform multi-point inspections and report issues
  • Maintain fuel island and perform minor facility maintenance
  • Complete technician training programs and assessments, including safety, preventive maintenance, electrical, and brake systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
