Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Zero to one (1) year mechanical experience preferred
• Must be 18 years or older
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Customer service skills
• Technical aptitude
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and in teams, represent Ryder professionally
• Time management skills
• Good attendance and performance record
• Basic computer skills
• Beginner knowledge of machines, tools, and shop systems preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• DOT safety regulated position; age and hours determined by law

Regulated Tech Requirements

• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities

• Move heavy vehicles, wash, fuel, and maintain vehicles following safety policies
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues
• Maintain fuel island and perform minor facility maintenance
• Complete Technician Training Development Program including hands-on and online training
