Job summary

Metrolina Greenhouses Inc. in Huntersville, NC is seeking a trailer shop technician to maintain and service trailers, liftgates, and reefer units while performing brake checks and tire inspections.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, evenings/weekends during peak seasons, and using hand tools; a self‑motivated, team‑oriented approach is essential and willingness to operate across locations.

Experience with air brakes, hydraulic systems, and electrical work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of common hand tools.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as on team initiatives.
• Preferred: knowledge of air brake systems.
• Experience or willingness to be trained driving a switcher pulling a 53' trailer.
• Hydraulic system experience.
• 12 and 24 volt electrical experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair Reefer units
• Inspect and replace brake shoes as needed
• Inspect and replace trailer tires
• Complete yearly Federal inspections on trailer fleet
• Service and repair liftgates
• Maintain and service the switcher truck fleet
• Other duties as assigned by management
