Job Overview

Hill International Trucks, the Tri-State area's leading dealership for medium- and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, is seeking Diesel Technicians. The primary responsibility is to repair and maintain diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  2. Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs.
  3. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  4. Tag and save parts for warranty or customer requests.
  5. Inspect vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is necessary.
  6. Coordinate with service advisors/dispatchers regarding additional work or delays.
  7. Document all work performed and recommendations.
  8. Participate in manufacturer training programs.
  9. Report machinery defects or malfunctions.
  10. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and notify of any changes in vehicle condition.
  11. Keep the shop area organized and clean.
  12. Manage dealership tools and manuals responsibly.
  13. Comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  14. Operate tools and equipment safely.
  15. Report safety issues immediately.
Additional Duties
  1. Stay updated with manufacturer bulletins.
  2. Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
  3. Road test vehicles when required.

Requirements
Education & Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent, or 6 months to 1 year related experience/training.

Certifications & Licenses
  • ASE certifications preferred but not required.
  • Valid CDL Class B license preferred but not required.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift up to 100 lbs, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Exposure to engine fumes and hot/cold weather.
  • Overtime as needed.
