Ryder is hiring a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician in Tempe, AZ. You will work on heavy-duty vehicles, performing maintenance and repairs with a Ryder Mobile Maintenance Truck provided for service calls. Earn $29.00 per hour with a full benefits package and opportunities for bonuses.

Second shift hours 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm. PTO from day 1, 401(k) match, and tuition repayment up to $5,000 are among the benefits. Ryder supports veteran applicants and provides PPE, uniforms, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two years or more training/experience in mechanical repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs as required
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Follows safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
• Provides other support duties to assist operations.

• Mobile Technicians are issued a Ryder Mobile Maintenance Truck for Service Calls
• Hourly Pay:$29.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work, required
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,preferred
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
• Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support
