As a Technician I, you are a respected lead and mentor at your location, trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, including diagnostics and road tests.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
2. Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers efficiently
3. Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment
5. Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs
6. Participate in ongoing technician training
7. Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of truck and trailer maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred
• Experience with diagnosis of major components; ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred
• Proficient with tools including diagnostic and welding equipment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Team player, willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Compliance with safety, DOT, OSHA policies, and regulatory requirements
• Must maintain a valid driver qualification file and pass DOT and drug screenings
• Willing to travel within the district and work scheduled hours

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, and bending
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
• Work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
• Good vision and hearing for navigating the work environment

Pay: $32.22 - $35.33 hourly
