Ready to move your career forward? As an experienced Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of well-maintained vehicles. You’ll help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

As a Technician I at Penske, you are a respected, experienced lead— a master technician. You set an example, mentor others, and work independently on major and minor repairs, including diagnostics and road tests.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining vehicles to ensure safety and reliability
  • Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers efficiently
  • Repairing major components like engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Keeping work areas safe and clean
  • Using Penske’s tools and technology for diagnostics and repairs
  • Learning new skills through training
  • Completing other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of practical truck and trailer maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred
  • Specialized training in diagnostics, OEM courses, ASE, and 608/609 certifications preferred
  • Proficient with diagnostic, welding, and hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
  • Problem-solving skills and customer service ability
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards
  • Regular, predictable attendance is essential
  • Must meet DOT requirements for driving, including MVR checks, physical, drug screening, and safety records
  • Willing to travel within the district as needed
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, and bending
  • Use of hands for operating tools and controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally

Salary: $40.00/hour

Shift Differentials:

  • $3/hr for 2nd shift (after 11am)
  • $4/hr for 3rd shift (after 9pm)
