Qualifications

  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
  • Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components.
  • Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred.

Ready to move your career forward? As an experienced Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

Location:

1023 Garber St, Caldwell, ID 83605

Main Responsibilities:
  • Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
  • Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
  • Keeping your work area clean and safe
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components, OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
  • Experienced with all tools of the trade (including welding, diagnostic, hand, and power tools)
  • Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to adhere to safety and regulatory policies, including DOT, OSHA, and Penske standards
  • Regular, predictable full attendance
  • Willingness to travel within the district, work scheduled hours, and pass background and drug screenings
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
  • Routine use of hands for operating tools and controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to see and hear to navigate environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
Pay and Schedule:

Pay: $31.50/hr

Schedule: Wed-Sat 6:00am-4:30pm
