Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is hiring a technician to inspect and repair a variety of freight-handling equipment. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform maintenance, and ensure service schedules are met.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and related experience. The role requires passing a background check and drug test, with preference for ASE and Diesel Engine certifications. Third shift available.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain all the equipment we use to transport and handle freight. Common equipment you will be working on include single and tandem axle diesel over-the-road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, and propane and diesel-powered industrial forklifts.
  • Track completed and uncompleted work to maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedule and customer commitments.
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on the component parts and systems of trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts.
  • Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other type of breakdown or potential failure.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system test, brake adjustments, and tire inflation.
  • Repair or rebuild all or part of a system of assigned equipment as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • a valid Driver's License
  • at least 6 months related experience and/or training
  • the ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test
