Job summary

val's services is seeking a skilled technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and maintenance vehicles. The role includes performing preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and ensuring compliance with trucking regulations.

The technician will document work orders, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, replace parts, and install onboard computers. Road call services may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5–7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair.
  • Proficient in diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with brake systems and engine overhauls/rebuilds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fleet equipment.
  • Inspect and repair braking, steering, and other critical systems.
  • Ensure equipment is roadworthy with proper licensing and registration.
  • Document repairs and maintenance in work orders.
  • Install onboard computer systems and related hardware.
  • Use hand and power tools for repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Perform oil changes and battery checks as part of regular service.
  • Assist and train fellow employees as needed.
  • Provide road call services as required.
