Amwaste is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Milledgeville, GA. You will maintain and repair fleet trucks and related equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support drivers who operate our waste collection vehicles daily.
You will load tractor trailers at the transfer station and participate in safety trainings while welding and fabricating as needed. Strong problem-solving, tool-use, and welding skills are required to keep our operations running smoothly and safely.

Our Diesel Mechanics are responsible for maintaining the engine and equipment on our waste collection trucks and providing courteous service to our truck drivers who operate these trucks daily. Our mechanics engage with our drivers and impact their community in a positive way.
Another responsibility of this job will be to load the tractor trailers at the transfer station with the waste and/or recycle material brought in.
Performs preventive maintenance, problem diagnostics, and repairs on Company vehicles and equipment.
The work consists of related vehicle and equipment maintenance duties. The variety of equipment to be maintained contributes to the complexity of the position.
