Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions in Fontana, CA is seeking an Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic/Technician to service Class 6-8 trucks in the field. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and light repairs in a site-based setting with a Tuesday–Saturday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years hands-on diesel tech experience on Class 6-8 trucks.
• DOT inspection and preventative maintenance expertise to keep fleets safe.
• Strong communication skills with customers and drivers.
• Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
• Maintain safety, efficiency, and timely repair times in the field.

Work Environment

• Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas – safety and precision are key.

• Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment.

• Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work.

• Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components.

• Stay active – you'll bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions – rain or shine, our team gets it done.
