• Must have a valid driver's license; CDL is a bonus.

Interstate Power Systems is looking to fill multiple shifts with both Mid-level and Experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Lincoln Nebraska location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more! We provide continued training, education, and certification opportunities to all Technician employees.

Pay Ranges: $22.00-$42.00 per hour DOE

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

• Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
• Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.
• Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders).
• Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
• Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
• Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
• Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train and Automatic Transmissions.
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.

Diesel Mechanic Desired Skills/Qualities:

• Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them.
• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
