Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Jefferson, Louisiana.

- Hourly pay: $36.00 per hour + shift diff + weekend diff
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
- Sign-on bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
- Schedule: Monday through Saturday, every other Saturday, with one day off during the week
- Hours: Second shift, Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm; Saturday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)
- Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
- Major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or fuel injection repairs
- Four or more years of relevant experience preferred
- Valid CDL Class A preferred
- Other certifications as required by location
Additional requirements:
- Ability to perform all T3 tasks
- Advanced analytical and repair skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
- Prefer ASE certifications in PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or Master Mechanic
- Proficient in operating shop computers and diagnostic equipment
- Minimum tool requirements
- Ability to road test vehicles
- Mentoring and coaching skills
This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks

Responsibilities
- Complete OEM online diagnostic courses within 365 days
- Perform vehicle maintenance, preventive and complex repairs
- Access and utilize maintenance documents and diagnostic tools
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues
- Assist roadside breakdowns via remote triage
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine issues
- Mentor other technicians and advise management
- Use shop management systems and documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
- Support shop operations as needed
