Job summary

United Construction & Forestry is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment. This full-time position requires hands-on mechanical work, strong safety awareness, and the ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs in a shop or field setting.

You’ll need own tools, basic computer skills, and solid customer service and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Own and maintain basic tools; specialty tools provided by dealership.
• Basic computer skills to operate service software and recordkeeping.
• Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on engines and equipment.
• Willingness to work a varying schedule and respond to after-hour calls as needed.
• Strong customer service and effective communication with customers and teammates.
• Good organizational skills to manage work orders and parts.
• Preferred: Heavy Equipment license

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and regulations during all tasks.
• Recondition and repair engines, transmissions, tractors, and related equipment.
• Diagnose problems and determine required repairs.
• Maintain records of parts and service charges for customers.
• Assist in directing helpers and trainees; provide instruction as required.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 1st shift – Saturdays as needed

United Construction & Forestry is looking for a Service Technician. This individual will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Recondition and repair all engines, transmission, tractors and industrial equipment assigned by the shop supervisor
• Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed
• Keep records required to establish cost of parts and service charges to the customer
• Handle customer problems both objectively and tactfully
• Assist in directing work of helpers or on the job trainees and provide instructions as required
• Maintain a clean work area and perform miscellaneous duties associated with the job
• Develop skills in disassembly, assembly and repair of components and machines
• Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Product Support Manager, Service Manager, Service Writer or Shop Foreman
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments
• Report any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer
• Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion

The posted pay range reflects the full compensation range for this position. Starting pay is determined based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic market, and internal equity. Most new hires are placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for continued wage growth as they develop in the role.
