Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Joliet, IL to diagnose and repair our fleet and perform preventive maintenance on Freightliner trucks, plus Kenworth and Internationals. You’ll ensure safety, accuracy, and quality on every job while documenting parts and warranty details.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years in fleet maintenance or tech school graduate.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair our fleet, primarily Freightliner trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.
• Record repairs, parts usage, and warranty details.
• Follow safety and quality standards in every job.
• Communicate clearly with drivers and fleet management.
• Stay updated with diesel tech training (Diamond Logic Builder, Cummins Insite, Detroit Diagnostic Link, Bendix Acom, Wabco Toolbox, etc.).
• Collaborate with teammates to solve tough problems.
