Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. is hiring a Rental Diesel Technician/Shop Mechanic in Hobbs, NM. The role involves troubleshooting, repairs, and servicing rental equipment, with a focus on diesel engines and heavy machinery.

You will use the work order system, collaborate with shop staff, and maintain safety and quality standards. Pay rate ranges from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour plus a $7.00 location differential. Pay depends on education and experience, and pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a technical school with emphasis on diesel engine preferred.
• Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience.
• 1+ years administrative/clerical experience.
• 1+ years customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Learn and uses the work order system; complete documents and parts orders accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with shop team and accept guidance from more experienced staff.
• Communicate with Shop Leads/Coordinators/Managers about repairs and status.
• Follow required safety practices and maintain a clean work area.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics under supervision.
• Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
• Attend trainings as requested.
• Assist with yard duties and load/unload equipment; clean rentals.
