Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Program Coordinator who will develop and teach courses, design curricula, and deliver instruction under minimal supervision by the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance. The role includes evaluating student performance and advising students and instructors.

The position also maintains certification/accreditation, handles documentation and budgeting, and supports recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts while requiring an academic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in diesel mechanics or automotive technology or related field.
  • ASE master diesel or automobile technician certification required with application.
  • Minimum two years of work experience; two years teaching experience preferred.
  • SC Class A CDL required.
  • Documented industry/teaching experience with current technology within last three years.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain diesel program curriculum and courses.
  • Teach courses and provide instruction delivery plans.
  • Advise students and mentor instructors.
  • Maintain program certification/accreditation and required documentation.
  • Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement; manage budgeting and reports.
