Hours: Day Shift / Monday - Friday - some Saturdays

Compensation: $33.75 to $43.75

Job Description:

The Port Orchard Sand & Gravel Company (POSG) is seeking an experienced and safety-oriented Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

  • This is mainly a heavy truck service & repair position
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and fuel systems, and more.
  • Read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics in repair work.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, recondition, test and assemble components.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialty tools to identify and repair issues efficiently.
  • Perform field and emergency repairs (when necessary) in varied weather conditions.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and service manuals for effective maintenance.
  • Maintain strict safety, environmental, and company regulation compliance.
  • Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and general labor duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of Diesel Engine Diagnostic and Repair experience, rebuilds and/or relevant education (CAT & Cummins).
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Vision Link, CAT ET.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
  • Own a complete set of heavy equipment tools and a roll-a-way tool box!!
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (CDL is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high quality work.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions, with flexible hours, overtime
