Background Checks and Job Details

Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. If you are offered a position that requires a background check, additional documentation will be provided after an offer is extended.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 5 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Requirements: You must provide your own tools, have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Description

This role involves maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with Tyson policies.

Tasks

Must have a valid state driver’s license and supply your own basic mechanical tools. Experience includes:

  • Minimum 1 year mechanical or maintenance skills, including preventive maintenance, oil changes, greasing, tire repairs, brake repairs/replacements on semi-trucks and trailers
  • At least 1 year operating cutting torches and electric welders

Additional skills may include air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, reaching, and working in various weather conditions. Good reading, communication skills, and the ability to perform assigned tasks are necessary. The candidate must be willing and able to perform these physical tasks with or without accommodations.

Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days and a maximum of 3 rehirings at Tyson.

Experience Requirements: 1 year of industrial maintenance work and 6 months of recent work history with one employer within the last 2 years.
