Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) in New Jersey to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will have opportunities to advance toward higher Service Technician levels and leadership roles within the Service Department.

You will provide exceptional customer service to our clients and support a culture of teamwork and safety. This role requires mobility to travel to customer sites as needed and a strong mechanical

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
