The D.A. Collins family of companies has brought safety, quality, and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 70 years. Pallette Stone Corp., a member of the D.A. Collins Companies, is seeking a reliable individual for a full-time, permanent Diesel Mechanic position at its main facility in Saratoga Springs, NY. The successful candidate will join the Teamsters Union Local 294, enjoying the wages and benefits provided to its members.

Upon acceptance, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment drug screening (as a Drug-Free Employer).

Essential Functions of the Position

• Perform tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, stretching, walking, climbing, and bending under potentially adverse conditions. Visual tasks such as backup spotting and reacting to alarms are required, following safety protocols.
• Knowledge of fuel injection systems, diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, transmission, and brakes.
• Willingness to work overtime, occasional Saturday shifts, and be on call as needed.
• Ability to follow orders independently or within a group setting.
• Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience or a trade school degree in diesel, trucking, or heavy equipment mechanics/technology.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Own tools required.
• Must pass pre-hire drug screening.
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work.
• Crane inspection license or willingness to obtain one.

Compensation

Base salary range: $33,600 - $87,500. Actual pay varies based on experience, education, certifications, market conditions, and other factors.
