Job summary

Safety Quip is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to service and repair heavy-duty trucks. The role involves hands-on repair, on-site and on-road, with responsibilities covering engines, suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC.

You will identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete required company training. Qualifications include at least 1 year of experience with heavy trucks; ASE certifications preferred but not required; CDL preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some systems: suspensions, steering, engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications preferred, not required.
• CDL preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge and performs complex repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Repair of refuse bodies including control, hydraulic and electrical systems: air and hydraulic braking.
• Engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning systems.
• Welding and fabrication.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Complete company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
