Job description

We are an industrial garage that specializes in the repair of vocational on-highway trucks. We repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, as well as all components upfitted and attached to them, including, but not limited to, hydraulic power and driven systems, welders, cranes, high-rail gear, and more. We are seeking an experienced technician with leadership skills to lead the technicians who perform this work. We expect you to work closely with an on-highway service writer to quote work submitted for approval. This will include your involvement in sourcing and tracking the parts needed for the quotes. Additional expectations for you are to provide and assign work to the technicians, as well as offer any technical support they may need to complete the job. You must understand time management and stacking work in the queue.

Duties include
  • Communicate with customers and assess their repair needs.
  • Collaborate with the service writer to provide quotes for customer repairs.
  • Work with the service writer and schedule work to be done.
  • Assign work to technicians, monitor their progress, and assist them as needed.
  • Manage tech time while clocked into work orders.
  • Train technicians and evaluate.
