Job summary

First Student in Pottstown, PA is hiring a Diesel Mechanic III to maintain and repair school buses, ensuring safety and reliability for students.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday day shift with a $36.00-$40.00 hourly rate based on experience, plus a $5,000 hiring bonus and comprehensive benefits. CDL Class B training and licensing are company-paid, with growth opportunities across locations in the U.S. & Canada.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days – company-paid.
• PA State Inspection License or ability to obtain one.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set for assigned duties.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program (training & bonuses provided).
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, clutches, and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
