Big Chief Hire specializes in the hire of civil construction and machinery equipment across four states in Australia, including SA, VIC, QLD, and NSW.

About the role

Our Head Office site is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems
• Repairing and servicing a diverse range of vehicles and equipment
• Planning jobs and identifying the required parts and components to complete the job efficiently
• Completing the required paperwork, including detailed reports related to the work performed, especially for warranty work
• Maintaining a commitment to safety in the workplace

About you

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a related qualification
• Heavy or light industry exposure and experience is highly regarded but not essential
• A safety and compliance-driven approach to your work
• Driver’s license (HR license advantageous)
