Job description

Job Summary:

Diagnose, maintain, and repair problems on major components and systems such as:

  • Diesel Engine
  • Brake System
  • Transmission
  • Air System
  • Differential
  • Electrical System

Perform, repair, and preventative maintenance on tractor and trailer components including:

  • Brakes
  • Cab
  • Engine
  • Fifth Wheel
  • Transmission
  • Delivery Equipment
  • Suspensions
  • AC and Air Systems
  • Clutch
  • Tires/Axles/Wheels
Other Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot major component problems
  • Maintain accurate records of P.M. services and repairs
  • Perform occasional road service
  • Schedule work to maintain P.M. schedules, repairs, and inspections
  • Oversee outside vendor repairs
  • Perform repairs, P.M. services, and inspections on tractors, trailers, and trucks
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of the listed systems and components
  • Experience with parts and service vendors
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance records and schedules
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (must obtain within one year)
  • Minimum of three years' experience in heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair
