Job description

Job Title: Diesel and Hydraulic Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel and Hydraulic Mechanic with expertise working on backhoes, trenchers, and bore rigs. Electrical repair experience is a plus. Candidates must have their own tools.

Responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines following manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
2. Troubleshooting malfunctions by observing mechanical devices and testing instruments.
3. Removing defective parts using hoists, hand, and power tools.
4. Fabricating repair parts with machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
5. Providing maintenance information and answering related questions.
6. Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain team continuity.
7. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations.

Preferred qualifications include a CDL Driver's License.

This role requires physical activity such as crawling, squatting, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing up to 12 feet. The physical demands include standing about 5 hours and walking about 2 hours in an 8-hour shift. The role involves lifting and carrying loads up to 100 lbs occasionally and 74 lbs frequently, with repetitive foot movements and manual dexterity required.

Work environment includes exposure to moving machinery, temperature/humidity variations, dust, fumes, and gases. Candidates should be comfortable around automotive equipment and in variable environmental conditions.
