Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for a direct hire position in West Monroe, LA. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment, with responsibilities spanning cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. You will troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and onboard computer systems and read schematics to diagnose issues.

The job requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of diesel experience, and readiness to travel. ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications preferred or required based on job responsibilities.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
• Valid driver's license preferred and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, brake, and onboard computer systems.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical problems, and complete corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to identify and repair equipment issues.
• Coordinate with operators, contractors, and maintenance team members to support equipment installations, upgrades, and repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, follow safety procedures, and ensure all equipment meets operational and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives while delivering high-quality maintenance service in a safety-focused environment.
