Job summary

SST Direct in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems with strong problem solving skills.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with pay of $35–$50 per hour and benefits including PTO, paid holidays, and 401(k) match. This role requires a hands-on, independent worker who can also collaborate with a team to

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong diesel engine diagnostic and repair experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty equipment.
• Welding/fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
• Perform inspections and identify equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
