Job summary

Intrepid Potash is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in New Mexico to repair and maintain heavy equipment, ensure safe operation, and support on-call maintenance for a 24/7 operation. The role requires experience with heavy equipment, DOT inspections, and the ability to supply personal metric tools.

You will work with a team on a rotating on-call schedule, operating in a non-temperature controlled outdoor environment, with PPE and safety protocols mandatory at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• 2+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred (e.g., CAT / SIS / Cummins).
• DOT inspections experience preferred.
• Must be able to provide own metric tools.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, dozers, loaders, trailers, haul trucks, and light vehicles.
• Operate plant equipment such as skid steers and bulldozers.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain housekeeping and report safety hazards.
• Maintain equipment records and files; participate in on-call schedule.
