- This is a full-time role working at KAT Wholesale in Blue Springs, Missouri and servicing our other local locations.
- Hourly Range : $27.00-$36.00 dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities :
- Equipment Repair & Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on farm machinery, fleet vehicles, and standard cars to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance and longevity. Adhere to DOT regulations for fleet trucks and maintain compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Parts Inspection : Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components, electrical systems, hydraulics, and safety features. Identify worn or defective parts and replace them as necessary to prevent equipment failure.
- Inventory Control : Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and supplies, monitor stock levels, and inform management when reordering items is necessary to ensure that essential components are readily available for timely repairs and maintenance.
- Safety & Cleanliness : Follow all safety protocols and cleanliness best practices to ensure a secure working environment. Keep work areas clean and organized, properly dispose of hazardous materials, and ensure vehicles and equipment meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on farm equipment, fleet vehicles, and standard cars
- Repair and replace components such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings on equipment like tractors, trailers, potting machines, water pumps, forklifts, and irrigation systems to address all mechanical malfunctions
- Perform electrical repairs, including rewiring ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels. Service braking systems by relining and adjusting brakes, and repair or replace components such as shock absorbers and radiators
- Conduct preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, brake servicing, and tire rotations
- Execute repairs promptly, documenting actions taken and any parts replaced for future reference
- Ensure fleet vehicles meet DOT compliance by inspecting brakes, lights, steering, and other safety systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in various types of equipment
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems
- Maintain accurate service records and document all maintenance and repairs
- Test vehicle and equipment performance post-repair to ensure proper functionality
- Perform visual inspections of machinery parts and components for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction
- Communicate with the Manager regarding stock levels, equipment requirements, maintenance schedules, and any other relevant updates
- Regularly check and update the inventory list of tools, spare parts, and equipment supplies
- Follow established safety procedures during all maintenance and repair activities to safeguard personal and team safety
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by routinely clearing debris, cleaning tools, and properly storing equipment
- Follow all workplace safety regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards for fleet maintenance
- Properly store and label hazardous materials according to regulations
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and encourage a culture of safety in the workplace

Minimum Qualifications :
- Required : High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanics, automotive technology, or a related field preferred
- Required : 2+ years of hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of farm machinery and landscape equipment
- Preferred : Bilingual in Spanish & English
