Diesel Mechanic

Job Responsibilities

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in heavy-duty semi-tractors and trailers, providing comprehensive diesel repair and maintenance services.

Your specific duties include:

  • Meeting customer needs professionally and efficiently
  • Replacing and balancing tires following proper procedures
  • Repairing or replacing starters, generators, and universal joints
  • Adjusting and replacing brakes
  • Discussing service issues with customers as needed
  • Completing work orders
  • Performing emergency roadside repairs
  • Performing minor arc welding
  • Training and mentoring team members
  • Maintaining safety and housekeeping standards
  • Following safety guidelines, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures
  • Adhering to drain plug torque procedures
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by your manager
  • Operating service trucks and providing roadside repairs, including tire services

Requirements

Reliability, strong mechanical skills, organization, and attention to detail are essential. Good communication, teamwork, and a willingness to assist others are also important.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license with a good record
  • At least 1 year of related experience (preferred)
  • Training, education, or experience equivalent to our standards
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • ASE Certification (preferred)
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to undergo background and reference checks
