Job summary

GFL Industries in Illinois is seeking a diesel truck and equipment mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain Company owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and refuse equipment.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, service hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other components to keep the fleet operating safely and reliably. Training is available for automotive experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose issues and perform repairs.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
